Tower Hill Botanic Garden recently hired André Gorgenyi to serve as chief development officer. Gorgenyi has been raising philanthropic dollars for more than 16 years, most recently as director of facilitating impact with the Salvation Army. In his new role, Gorgenyi will oversee the advancement department for the Boylston-based nonprofit organization.
Gorgenyi began with a career in criminal justice serving as an undercover operative. His career in the nonprofit world began with The Salvation Army where he was trained in gift planning and then touched upon the higher education and medical sectors, before a return to The Salvation Army at its Canton office.
“I’m thrilled to join the Tower Hill family and to help align the financial goals of donor investors with their philanthropic dreams,” Gorgenyi says.
The advancement department at Tower Hill Botanic Garden includes planned giving, fundraising events, membership, grant proposals, capital campaigns, and more. Tower Hill opened in 1986 and includes 171 acres of woodlands, formal gardens, and a visitors center. The organization is dedicated to connecting plants and people.

Gorgenyi, and his wife Melissa of 14 years, are raising three school-aged children, Lewis, Jocelyn, and Jacob about 25 minutes north of Boston.
