Public gardens are increasingly exploring new technologies to provide business intelligence, manage collections, and deliver interpretive and education programs. With a vast array of hardware and software solutions available, how do gardens begin to evaluate relevant technologies? This session will provide a starting point to learn about new systems that may support garden missions and goals. What technologies are other public institutions using? Hear, see, discuss, and try the latest innovations. Technology expositions will include location-based games, an iPad app with a microscope for school programs, digital asset management for organizing images, and mobile applications for data collection. This session will include guided hands-on use and demonstrations.
