Barcodes have been around since the 1970s and are now an essential tool in the successful running of many large organizations. Some of the advantages of using barcodes and RFID tags may be obvious, but is it enough to just stick a barcode on a plant label? In this session, we will share some of our experiences with examples of where technology and organizational routines make barcodes and RFID tags great tools to help botanic gardens achieve their goals more efficiently.
