NEW - Garden Scholars Fund

Our Association’s strongest asset is our people. If we aren’t investing in our fellow garden professionals, our industry cannot flourish.

In 2018, the American Public Gardens Association pledged to substantially expand and diversify scholarship opportunities for our Members. These scholarships will enable a student, emerging- or mid-career professional an opportunity to network, be inspired by new ideas, and advance their skills by covering registration and travel costs to attend one of the Association’s regional symposia or the Annual Conference.

If you’ve personally benefited from the opportunity to connect with your colleagues face-to-face at a conference or symposium, then pay it forward with a gift to the Garden Scholars Fund. The number of scholarships available in any given year is contingent on the total raised from our Members, Board, Association staff, and Alumni. Please donate today!

Giving Options (recognizing you, or in honor of others):

1) A gift in any amount to support the General Scholars Fund

2) A gift of $1,000 or $2,500 to Sponsor a Scholar with a full scholarship

3) $5,000 - $25,000 to establish Named Scholarship(s) over 1-3 years

Named Scholarship

A deeper investment offered is the naming of a scholarship in honor of one’s family, to honor someone in our industry, or to elevate one’s institution’s name among the public garden world. Donors may opt to set the parameters for a scholarship based on a particular attribute (e.g., specific to a career level, an area of specialty, and/or issues of diversity/equity). We also would offer the option of donor input in the selection process together with our Scholarship Committee, and attendance at events where you can meet the Scholars.  A full list of benefits can be found here.
