The APGA has a number of Standing Committees that are charged with assisting the Association to accomplish its day to day operations. Those Committees play an integral role in ensuring that we are providing the highest quality benefits and services to our members. Below is a list of the Standing Committees. The Awards Committee solicits and evaluates nominations for Honorary Life Membership, Award of Merit, Award for Program Excellence, the Professional Citation, Horticulture Magazine Award for Garden Excellence, and the Dorothy E. Hansel publications award.
The NAPCC committee encourages focused plant collection development in public gardens in order to ensure that unique, genetically diverse, historically important, rare, unusual, and/or threatened collections are maintained.
Program Selection Committee
The Program Selection Committee is responsible for soliciting, developing, reviewing, and evaluating programs (keynote addresses, workshops, sessions, and informal discussion groups, posters) to be presented at the annual conference.
Editorial Advisory Group
The Editorial Advisory Group supports the Association print publications. Group members work closely with APGA staff to produce timely, useful materials. Members serve as planners and reviewers for issues of Public Garden.
