Position Available: Institutional Giving Coordinator
Classification: Full-time, Non-exempt
General Summary: This newly created position will provide support and coordination for the corporate, foundation, and government gift programs. The coordinator will work across the institution to support Arboretum funding needs.
Previous Training and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in liberal arts or related field, and a minimum of one year of demonstrated successful grant writing or similar experience with non-profit organization(s). Ability to pay close attention to detail. Aptitude with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Strong research, writing and editing skills. Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment. Prior experience using Raiser’s Edge software strongly preferred, along with experience in a moves management system. Ability to convey the message of the Arboretum’s mission with passion and commitment.
Must possess exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Must have the ability to handle sensitive information in a confidential manner. Must be able to exercise diplomacy and tact in dealing with both internal and external constituents and their requests. Candidate must be highly organized and detail oriented, with the ability to prioritize independently and successfully meet the demands and deadlines of multiple projects. A commitment to excellence and team-oriented approach to responsibilities is essential.
1. Work performed in a fast-paced office setting with prolonged periods in front of a computer screen; some outdoor work required.
2. Requires some physical activity: lifting (up to 10 lbs.), bending, climbing stairs, carrying (10 lbs.), sitting, standing, and walking.
3. Travel by car to local funding prospects.
4. Occasional weekend and evening hours required.
