Children’s Education Summer 2013 Instructor Positions
Brooklyn Botanic Garden’s Children’s Education department has been a leader in providing urban children and teens with hands-on gardening and science instruction for 99 years. BBG has teaching positions available this summer in a number of our science enrichment and gardening programs. Instructors participate in a three-week training session in June and teach during July and August. Full-time staff members work with instructors to support their development of best practices in curriculum development, horticulture and environmental education.

Duration: mandatory training—June 11-28, 2013; teaching program runs 6-7 weeks in July and August
Hours: 28-35 hours per week, depending on position
Qualifications: College-level studies or career experience in education, urban agriculture, nutrition, botany, or environmental or biological sciences. Must have experience teaching children. Ideal candidates will have experience and comfort working with youth and staff from diverse backgrounds.
