Job Title: CSA Lead Grower Assistant
Position Type: Seasonal – Full-time
Compensation: $9.50 per hour
Job Summary: Under direct supervision of the CSA Produce Grower, this position works in all aspects of small-scale sustainable food production. Job includes but is not limited to: propagation, planting, mulching, weeding, watering, trellising, harvesting and other on-going tasks associated with organic vegetable production. Position works closely with volunteers and the general public. This position will help oversee the Seasonal Grower Assistants for the CSA with guidance from the CSA Produce Grower.
Position is Tuesday through Friday (5:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.), starting April 16, ending October 4th, 2013
Qualifications: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or minimum three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be able to read and understand instructions, simple diagrams and schematics. Must be able to read and understand toxin labels. Must possess a valid Colorado Drivers License. Must have some working knowledge of machinery (weed wackers, roto-tillers, and small engines). Three months experience in similar production agriculture environment is preferred. Must be familiar with the use of hand held tools. Position often requires early morning hours and may require overtime during certain periods. Experience working with volunteers and the general public is highly desirable. Experience supervising/leading staff is also preferred
