Curator required for Royal Botanic Garden, Jordan. An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious and brilliant leader of people and plants.  Applicants should have: a minimum of four years’ managerial experience at a recognised botanic garden; practical working knowledge of horticulture; familiarity with exemplary curation procedures; proficiency with plant record’s databases; experience in staff training; skills in implementing procedures; knowledge of the educational output of botanic gardens; a relevant qualification of degree standard or higher.

Knowledge of the Arabic language (or a willingness to learn) would be advantageous along with a proven interest in the regions flora.

The Royal Botanic Garden of Jordan is a non-profit organization founded in 2005. It is located in Tell Ar-Rumman, north of Amman, overlooking King Talal Dam. The Garden covers 1,800 dunums / 180 hectares / 445 acres and has more than 300m of elevation change within its boundaries.
Due to a variety of soil types and microclimates at the RBG, a high percentage of the plant species that grow naturally throughout Jordan can be hosted at the site. The garden will exclusively grow and conserve native plants and aims to become a world-class botanic garden in science, education, horticulture and sustainability.

The Royal Botanic Garden will be opening to the public soon.
